Museum Hours

​Tuesday - Saturday  10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Closed Sundays, Mondays & Holidays.
We accommodate tours or groups. Call 808-964-5151 for reservations.

Where we are.

The museum is in Papaʻikou in the 1902 Onomea Sugar Company Plantation Store.

We are located on the Hilo/Hamakua Coast, off Highway 19, between the 6 and 7 mile marker north of Hilo.

Turn off Belt Highway 19 at Mill Road, opposite the Kimura General Store (Formerly Pinkyʻs).

The Museum is one block off the highway, at the intersection of Mill Road and Old Māmalahoa Highway.
​Visitor parking is available directly in front of the museum.

We are 2 miles south from the Hawaiʻi Tropical Bioreserve and Garden,
and 11 miles from Akaka Falls State Park.

Be sure to visit What's Shakin' Big Island in nearby Pepe'ekeo.

Children (6-17 yrs.) - $3
Children 5 & Under  - Free
