This Portuguese Immigrants book list the Portuguese Immigrants that came to the Island of Hawaii from 1878-1913 to work for the sugar plantation on a three year contract. After their contract, many stayed in Hawaii and continued to work for the plantations. Many purchased land and some even started their own businesses.
